State girls beat Telangana 7-0

The hosts took an early lead when Shalmili Chavan scored the opener in the second minute. Later Prachi scored the second goal in the 8th minute while  Sanika Patil added three goals to the tally in 12th, 19th and 33rd minutes.

PUNE: Maharashtra girls defeated Telangana 7-0 to advance further in the Under-14 National Level School Football Tournament being played at multiple venues on Friday.  

The hosts took an early lead when Shalmili Chavan scored the opener in the second minute. Later Prachi scored the second goal in the 8th minute while  Sanika Patil added three goals to the tally in 12th, 19th and 33rd minutes.

Meanwhile, Vaishnavi Dombale and Preeti Saavale scored one goal each in the 36th and 47th minutes.

In another encounter, Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh 6-0 to win with ease. For Haryana, Manisha scored two goals in the 4th and 10th minutes while Kalpana added two more goals in the 7th and 18th minutes. Also getting on the scoreline were Rinu who scored in the 36th minute and Simran who scored in the 41st minute.

In another fixture of the day, Punjab got past Vidya Bharati with the score of 3-0 to enter the next round.
