Starpick India launches fantasy sports platform

Bengaluru: Starpick India on Tuesday night launched an online fantasy sports platform in a glittering ceremony as cricketing stars Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir joined hands with Starpick as their brand ambassadors,

With the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just around the corner, Starpick has launched their platform where one can play a sport with their fantasy team on a daily basis.
The online platform which is currently limited to IPL will expand in coming months as the owners aim to provide users with their fantasy teams for India’s Tour of England and 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

In the coming months, a user can choose to play fantasy game from different European football leagues such as Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, as well as other major sports like Kabaddi, Tennis, F1 and Golf.

If the star-studded line-up of Indian star wasn’t enough, former India international VVS Laxman and former South African batsman Jonty Rhodes have teamed up with Starpick in as advisors, where Rhodes will work as the analyst as well for the users, providing them with tips, helping them choose a better  side in order to earn maximum points and earn a chance to win cash prizes as well.

Rhodes, one of the greatest fielders of all-time, further explained what the users will be able to do on a daily basis,

“The pitch in Mohali is completely different than one in Bengaluru, so one needs to keep that in mind and choose their side accordingly.”

“Also, you have a certain amount of budget, and you have to form a team which fits in that budget, you cannot just buy all expensive players, so you will require a lot of skills in managing your team,” he added.

The unique thing about this fantasy sports platform is that one can choose to join different pools, where one can choose to play the game for free or to play where the money is involved.

As the country will soon get engulfed in IPL fever, the owners believe that the platform will provide users to be more in touch with the sport they love.
