St Vincent’s oust Loyola School to clinch title

Pune: A brace from Aarya Walia and a goal each from Brian Lewis and Harsh Jagdale helped St Vincent’s School to script a 4-1 victory over Loyola High School to lift the Under-14 Zilla Parishad Football tournament title at PDFA Football Ground in Dobarwadi here on Monday.
Harsh Jagdale set up the first goal for Aarya in the fifth minute to give St Vincent’s an early lead. In the 16th minute, Dawin Lobo’s pass helped Brian Lewis to net a second goal of the match. 

Harsh, who was involved in the first goal, got behind the ball and made it 3-0 for St Vincent’s. For Loyola’s Akshat Dadu netted one goal in 30th minute but it only reduced the deficit as Aarya was once again in action in the 32nd minute to score his second goal.   

In the third place match, Army Public School defeated The Bishop’s School 2-0.

Final: St Vincent’s School 4 (Aarya Walia 5th, 32nd,  Brian Lewis16th, Harsh Jagdale 26th) bt Loyola High School Pashan 1 (Akshat Dadu 30th).
Thrid place: Army Public School 2 (Aarav Gill 17th, Arjit Sharma 23rd) bt The Bishop’s School, Camp 0.

Girls: Vidya Bhavan High School, Model Colony 1 (Anika Prasad 14th) bt Nagarvala Day School 0.
Anglo Urdu Girls School 0 bt SSPMS School 0. Tie Breaker: 4-2.
St Joseph High School, Pashan 1 (Yojana Khawle 13th) bt Rashmi English Medium School 0.
Hutchings School 1 Kushi Jain bt Delhi Public School 0.
