Pune: St Vincent’s High School defeated Mata Ramabai Ambedkar English Medium School, PMC 60 B 5-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the Under-14 Subroto Cup Qualifiers football tournament being played at the PDFA football ground at Dobarwadi on Saturday.
Bhargav Sawant scored the opening goal for the Vincentians while Arya Walia added two goals in the 13th and 15th minutes. Harsh Jagdale (22nd) and Zedan Lazarus (26th) scored one goal each as St Vincent’s boys entered the quarterfinals.
In another match, Vidya Bhavan High School, Model Colony got past Delhi Public School 2-1 to advance. For Vidya Bhavan, Kshitij Kokate scored in the 11th minute while Swaraj Sapkal scored in the 22nd minute. Also entering the quarterfinals was Loyola High School who scored an easy 2-0 victory over Nagarvala Day School.
