St. Vincent’s beat Anglo Urdu 3-0

St Vincent’s High School School made light work of Anglo Urdu High School with a resounding 3-0 win at the Bishop’s International Under-14 football tournament here on Monday. 

Pune: St Vincent’s High School School made light work of Anglo Urdu High School with a resounding 3-0 win at the Bishop’s International Under-14 football tournament here on Monday. 

Vibgyor School, Bishop’s Co-ed School and Loyola High School were the other victors on a day where it rained goals.

St Vincent’s played to the credentials of champions as they dominated the proceedings against Anglo Urdu High School. Aaron D’Souza sparkled with a well-taken brace, while Kevin Chatterjee chipped in with a solitary goal for Vincent’s boys. 

In another match, the Bishop’s Co-Ed School Undri beat Caelum High School 4-2 in a goal-fest. Nishit Phadke, Saharsh Nimbalkar, Aayan Peerzada and Reuben D’Souza scored for the Bishop’s School, while Atharva Limaye and Arsh Mohammed’s strikes saved the blushes for Caelum team.

Later in the day, Vibgyor School NIBM recorded a clinical 2-0 win over Infant Jesus School. Aditya Sareen took the onus of scoring both the goals as the Vibgyor team controlled proceedings for most of the match. Infant Jesus team were reduced to scarce chances, which were duly dealt with by the Vibgyor team’s solid defence.

Euro School, Undri upset Millenium National School 2-0 to make the statement of the day. Millennium School were the much-fancied outfit, but Euro School displayed an array of attacking talent that was difficult for the Millenium School.

Loyola High School too were played to their reputation in a 4-0 mauling of VP Magarpatta School. Known for their distinct style of play, Loyola were propelled by a double from their striker Joel Sudarshan. 

He was ably supported by Vedant Gupta and Shreyaj Manchati. Other teams would be wary of Loyola High School’s attacking prowess in next few rounds to come.
