St Mary’s High School girls lift Under-14 title

Ariyana Gadok scored the first goal in the 11th minute which was set up by Surbhi Upadhyay to give St Mary’s a 1-0 lead.

Pune: St Mary’s School girls team defeated Angel Mickey and Minie High School, Hadapsar 2-0 to lift the Zilla Parishad Under-14 Football tournament title at PDFA ground in Dobarwadi on Friday.

Ariyana Gadok scored the first goal in the 11th minute which was set up by Surbhi Upadhyay to give St Mary’s a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later Ariyana was once again in action as her pass helped Anahita Nambiar to score the second goal for St Mary’s. 

In a battle for third place, The Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar beat Lokseva English Medium School 1-0. The lone goal of the match was scored by Viranjali Pandit in the 23rd minute. 

Earlier in the semifinal,  Angel Mickey and Minie High School had defeated  Lokseva English Medium School 2-0. Piyusha Narke completed a brace scoring goals in 5th and 19th minute. 

In the second semifinal of the day,  St Mary High School girls got the better of Bishop’s School 3-0. 

Anahita, Anisha Jagdale and Ariyana scored goals in 10th, 18th and 23rd minutes respectively.

Final: St Mary’s School 2 (Ariyana Gadok 11th, Anahita Nambiar 15th) bt Angel Mickey and Minie High School, Hadapsar 0.

Third place: The Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar 1 (Viranjali Pandit 23rd) bt Lokseva English Medium School.
Under-17 (First round)

Millennium School 1 (Ansha Karkre 10th) bt St Helena’s Girls School 1 (Ridha Sheikh) 

Tie breaker: 4-2.
