Siya scores easy win over Saloni

For Siya, it was a very easy outing, as Saloni could not find any rhythm going into the match and surrendered easily

Pune: Siya Deshmukh started the tournament with an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory over Saloni Paridha to enter qualifying rounds two in the MSLTA KPIT - Arun Wakankar Memorial ATF Asian Under-14 Series Tennis Tournament at MSLTA school of tennis in Balewadi Sports Complex on Saturday.

For Siya, it was a very easy outing, as Saloni could not find any rhythm going into the match and surrendered easily.

In the first match of the day, Anya Jecob had to sweat hard before overcoming Srihita Jaligama to advance into second round qualifier.

Anya started off by taking first set 6-3. In the next set, Srihita rallied back with winning the set 6-4. In the decider, Anya came out with her ace game to trounce Srihita with 6-2 victory. Aditi Lakhe also moved into second round qualifiers with 7-5, 6-1 win over Siddhi Khot.

Among boys, seasoned campaigner Neel Joglekar brought his act together to send home Swarmanyu Singh with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.

Later on, Parsha Parmar accounted for Ved Pawar to move into second round qualifiers. First set turned out to be an easy affair for Parsha, as he won it 6-3. In the second set, Ved had to fight hard before earning a 7-5 victory.

Arnav Paparkar advanced with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Ankit Bhateja. Anamy Upadhyay and Joshua Eapen got an easy round one qualifier match as the duo defeated Vedant Bhosale and Sarvesh Zawar respectively.
