Shreya Shelar wins in Under-16 quarters

Pune: Shreya Shelar from Ahilyadevi High School For Girls, Shaniwar Peth defeated Saloni Tapaswi from Sevasadan English Medium School, Patwardhan Baug 15-5, 15-6 in the Under-16 girls quarterfinals of the badminton event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics on Saturday.

In another match, Nehal Prabhune from SPM English School Secondary, Sadashiv Peth defeated Kesar Kogta from The Bishop’s Co-Ed School, Undri 11-15, 15-4, 15-10.

Also registering a win was Revati Shrikhande from D.E.S. Secondary School, Tilak Road who got past Madhura Patwardhan from S.P.M. English School Secondary, Sadashiv Peth with the score reading 15-7, 15-17, 15-10.

In other action of the day, Rucha Sawant from Blue Ridge Public School, Hinjewadi beat Riddhi Pudkey from Symbiosis School, Prabhat Road 18-16, 15-7.
