Pune: Shivajians Sports Club, Nagar showed total dominance on the local football circuit winning every trophy up for grabs in 2017-18.

The club’s success can be measured from the fact that five trophies namely; Amdar Chashak, Ahmednagar Police Trophy, Friends Club Cup, Alex ‘Fernandez’ Cup and the Cantonment Trophy (State-level) tournaments were won.

The club’s also initiated a host of activities for the first time, which included organising the Firodia Shivajians Inter-School league-cum-knock-out tournament, the first privately run tournament in the city after Maximus Sports Academy Founder Narendra Firodia stepped in to support the cause of grass roots.

In an extension of promoting grassroot, 60 boys were scouted from the inter-school tournament for a year-long training programme, which also includes travelling to Pune to train at DSK Shivajians FC.

Headed by Head Coach Victor Joseph along with Xavier Swamy, Sachin Patre, Rajesh Anthony, Upendra Golande and coordinator Pallavi Saidane, Shivajians SC vision to promote the sport has led to an all-round on and off the ground success story.

Extending their efforts, Shivajians SC will conduct a two-week ‘open’ Summer Camp at the Killa Maidan from 9 to 30 April, 2018 in three levels namely beginners, intermediate and advance.
