Saurav is new champ in weekly chess meet

Pune: Saurav Sahoo who is basically from Orissa and now studying in Pune was the surprise winner in the 40th Every Sunday Rapid Chess Championship.

Saurav lost only one game to Aakanksha but scalped the rest, including top seeded Chinmay Kulkarni to emerge as a clear winner. Though, lesser known, Saurav demonstrated good technique and temperament in this strong tournament.

International Women Master and World Under-16 Champion Aakanksha and Chinmay had to be content with third and second placing respectively.
