Satpute to lead state cycling team

Pune: International cyclist Rutuja Satpute will be leading the Maharashtra Cycling Team in the upcoming 22nd National Road Cycling Championship. This National Championship is scheduled to take place at Jamakhandi, Karnataka from October 28 to November 1. 

The Maharashtra team has been selected from the state level selection test which was conducted in Nashik and Ahmednagar and the training camp conducted in Narayangaon.

The Maharashtra team has been selected from the state level selection test which was conducted in Nashik and Ahmednagar and the training camp conducted in Narayangaon. 

Meenakshi Thakur, Pratap Jadhav, Sanjay Sathe and Biru Bhojne selected the team. Due to the efforts of Pravin Patil, MD & CEO-Starkenn Sports Pvt. Ltd, the team has received an award of worth 35 lakhs from Starkenn Sports. 

The team has got 6 premium bicycles and cycling spare parts worth rupees 35 lakh. These new bicycles are given to Rutuja Satpute, Pranita Soman (4 gold medal in MTB 2017), Vivek Waykar (2 silver medals in MTB 2017), Komal Deshmukh (winner of National track and road championship) and Yashodhara Sherkar (2 gold medals, MTB, 2017) for the practise and the tournament. 
 
Maharashtra Cycling Squad:
Men Elite ( 19 years and above):  Makrand Mane, Vitthal Bhosale, Dnyaneshwar Kashid-Extra (All Pune), Shahid Jamadar (Sangli), Rushikesh Patil (Krida Prabodhini), Jehan Panjwani (Mumbai)

Men Under 23 : Ashwin Patil (India Campers), Sanjay Shinde (Krida Prabodhini), Surya Thatu (Pimpri Chinchwad), Vinit Sawant (Mumbai), Prakash Olekar (Sangli).

Women Elite (19 years and above): Rutuja Satpute (Captain-Pune), Yashodhra Sherkar (Pune), Komal Deshmukh (Pimpari-Chinchwad), Priyanka Karande (Sangli), Deepali Shildankar (Ahmednagar).

Women Junior (Below 18): Madhura Waykar (Mumbai), Pranita Soman (Ahmednagar), Priya Dodke (Pune), Swapnali Sutar (Kolhapur).
Men Junior (Below 18): Mihir Jadhav (Thane), Vivek Waykar (Pune), Shrinivas Londhe (Ahmednagar), Sagar Yamde (Sangli), Pruthvi Pilai (Mumbai).
