Sardar Dastur, Sinhgad School start with wins

Pune: Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School and Sinhgad City School Kondhwa started their campaign with a win in the first round of the Zilla Parishad Under-17 Football Tournament at SSPMS Ground on Monday.

Sardar Dastur boys defeated Eon Gyanankur English School 1-0 while Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa, got the better of Bharti Vidyapeeth School, Dhankawadi, 5-0.
In the first match of the day, Arsh Khan’s lone goal in the 11th minute helped Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School edge past Eon Gyanankur.

Then, Ishan Pirjade’s hat-trick and one goal each from Omkar Mekale and Ronit Nannparaj  helped Sinhgad City School to score an easy victory.

Ishan scored the first goal in the 5th minute while his next two goals came in 7th and 11th minute respectively. In between, Omkar Mekale found the net in the 7th minute. In 22nd minute, Ronit Nannparaj netted the fifth goal to seal the contest.
