Pune: Mumbai cueists Dhairya Bhandari, Shahabaz Khan, Rahul Sachdev, Hasan Badami Anuj Uppal and Shivam Arora scored wins as they dominated the day’s proceedings at the inaugural Sterlite Tech Cup India Open Snooker Championship being played at The Q Club Tables, Vimannagar on Wednesday.
National top cueist, Shahabaz Khan of Mumbai scored an impressive win over Dhaval Gazavi of Pune 47-62, 73 (55)-05, 60-17 and started his campaign on a winning note. Shahabaz also potted a 55 point brake in the second frame.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s and former Junior National player Rahul Sachdev outplayed Sunil Dadiyali of Nagpur 75-05, 85-16.
Another top national cueist, Hasan Badami showed his class and taught a few lessons to opponent Vaibhav Bajaj of Cue Club, winning the match by 77-09, 79-18. Shivam Arora of Mumbai potted best against Akash Joshi of New Club 60-39, 23-58, 83-09.
Dhairya Bhandari and Anuj Uppal scored identical 2-0 wins against Gaurav Aiyyagiri and Deepak Patil of Satara respectively.
