Run for specially-abled receives good response

Pune: A total of 550 runners, including 450 children with special abilities and underprivileged children and 40 paraplegic soldiers, participated in the 3-km run for paraplegic soldiers and underprivileged children at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center.

The event was held with the tag RUN for FUN by Spectrum, a ladies study organisation. 

Col. Mukherjee, the in-charge of the Paraplegic Centre, spoke about how challenges are necessary for strength in mind and body.

Pushpa Hegde, ex-President of Spectrum and Chairman of the Run for Fun marathon, welcomed the guests.

The children that were assembled were flagged off by chief guest M Petkar, a Para-Olympian gold medalist.
