Rajiv and Amarnath win a grand double

Chennai: Riders from Honda stole the show in the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship as Rajiv Sethu and Mithun Kumar caught everyone’s eyes even as Amarnath Menon of Gusto racing won a grand double in the second round of the Championship here at Sriperumbudur on Sunday.

While Rajiv scored a double win, he also lead the Honda team to a 1-2 win with Mathana following him right behind in the premier Super Sport Indian (up to 165cc), adding to which Mithun Kumar’s glorious win in the Pro stock (165cc) put the Honda team in cloud 9.

While Rajiv scored a double win, he also lead the Honda team to a 1-2 win with Mathana following him right behind in the premier Super Sport Indian (up to 165cc), adding to which Mithun Kumar’s glorious win in the Pro stock (165cc) put the Honda team in cloud 9.

Amarnath Menon who performed as well as he did in his first round in Coimbatore, grabbed the top position in the Super Sport Indian (300-400cc) class, winning all four races in his class.

The Stock (up to 165cc) race was perhaps the most happening races on Sunday as 39 racers got on to the grid only to restart the race after two laps due to a series of crashes on the track.

Mithun Kumar who due to technical problems with the bike had come in sixth in his first race, more than made up for his loss as by destroying the Pro-Stock field for his third win in four races. His team-mates Anish D Shetty and Aravind Balakrishnan, winner of the first race on Saturday, came in second and third, respectively.
