Pune: Raj Datta carded a better back-nine than his closest challenger Arbind Kumar to win the Kirloskar Salver Golf Tournament at the Poona Club Golf course here on Saturday.
Datta scored 40 points in a tournament played over Stableford format, as does Arbind Kumar. Datta, however, had better back-nine card than Arbind that earned him the rolling Salver, which was established in late 80s at this very golf course.
Youngster Arbind, however, had the satisfaction of winning the Gross trophy, thanks to his score of 33. Here also, he was tied at the score, with Akash Nakahre, but his card had better scores in the back nine.
Dr Rajeshwari Agarwal won the ‘Best Lady Golfer’ title with her card of 33 points, as against 29 by the runner-up Dolly Mangat.
