Purva vaults into all time best No. 26 rank

Pune: Purva Barve has gained an all-time personal best ranking by occupying the No. 26 position on the BWF Junior Rankings released lately.

The sixteen-year-old Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy - NKBA trainee gained a whopping 17 positions on the women’s singles charts based on Week-27 (6th July, 2017) rankings. Earlier, the Pune-based shuttler was ranked No 43.

Purva’s movement makes her the biggest mover on the women’s singles Top-50 BWF Junior Rankings this week.  

Pune: Purva Barve has gained an all-time personal best ranking by occupying the No. 26 position on the BWF Junior Rankings released lately.

The sixteen-year-old Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy - NKBA trainee gained a whopping 17 positions on the women’s singles charts based on Week-27 (6th July, 2017) rankings. Earlier, the Pune-based shuttler was ranked No 43.

Purva’s movement makes her the biggest mover on the women’s singles Top-50 BWF Junior Rankings this week.  

She now has accumulated 8295 points, after collecting 1400 for her bronze-medal and semifinal show in the Russian Junior White Nights 2017 at the “Arena”, Gatchina-Russia recently. Incidentally, the points collected after her Russia show is the second highest this season after the two titles she won in Israel and Italy, which fetched her 2000 points each respectively.

The youngster is currently the third best Indian junior women’s player positioned on the BWF chart behind No. 9 Aakarshi Kashyap and No. 22 Ira Sharma  

NKBA Director and Head Coach Nikhil Kanetkar, said; “The rise is huge and it is big. Purva is focused and a hardworking player. Her season has just begun and with a host of tournaments lined up for the year.”
