“Me and Rishank play together for Bharat Petroleum and we know each other’s game so it helped me to tackle him so many times in the match,” said Girish Ernak.

Experienced raider Deepak Hooda and Rajesh Mondal collected 15 points between them to keep things tight.

“Match was tought, and credit goes to whole team, Sandeep Narwal, Rajesh Mondal, Girish Ernak, Dharamaraj Cherlathan and also junior players. We were trailing but I had trust on my team it helped us to win the match today,” said Deepak Hooda.

Right from the first minute, UP outfit started collecting points in defence and raiding department. Tomar and Devadiga created havoc with their raids while in defence Sagar Krishna and Jeeva Kumar tackled Pune raiders.

Pune got ‘All out’ at the end of fourth minute with the score read 10-3 in the favour of UP team.

“We had our chances but injury to defender Sagar Krishna cost us the match if he had stayed on mat."
