Puneri Paltan fails to crack Gujarat code again

Puneri Paltan fails to crack Gujarat code again

Pune: Table toppers Gujarat Fortunegiants came out with one more gimmick which Pune failed to understand as they surrendered meekly in their first game at Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune on Friday.

The victory margin of 44-20 itself speaks of the dominance of Gujarat as they never allowed Puneri Paltan to get back into the game.

First 20 minutes and four unsuccessful raids from captain Deepak Hooda put the home team straight away on back foot.
It was not a start which was expected from the home team as table toppers Gujarat kept scoring points on every opportunity and went into the half time with the score line of 17-7.

Fortunes did not change for Puneri Paltan after half time as star players Sandeep Narwal, Rajesh Mondal, Dharmaraj Cheralathan followed the footsteps of their captain and failed to score points.

Rajesh did manage three points but other three who have done bulk of scoring in previous matches could not collect a single point.

On the other side of the mat, Sukesh Hegde collected 15 raid points while Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal scored 7 and 2 points respectively.

For Pune, Suresh Kumar and Monu scored six and three points respectively. In complete 40 minutes, Pune was ‘All out’ thrice while their opponents stayed intact on the mat.

Results: Gujarat Fortunegiants 44 (Sukesh Hegde 15, Sunil Kumar 7, Sachin 4, Parvesh Bhainswal 2, Fazel Atrachali 2, Chandran Ranjit 2) beat Puneri Paltan 20 (Suresh Kumar 6, Monu 3, Rajesh Mondal 3, Ziaur Rahman 2, Deepak Hooda 0, Sandeep Narwal 0, Dharmaraj Cheralathan 0)
