Pune: The city of Pune may have long left behind its image of ‘The city of cycles’, the ubiquitous mode of transport is making its comeback, though slowly but surely.
As part of their efforts to make cycles a viable mode of transport and to celebrate their 60th anniversary, Swiss cycle-maker Scott launched a unique ride where over 1200 cyclists across 30 cities covered 25,000 kilometres collectively to spread the message of the cleanest mode
In Pune, about 73 cyclists pedalled over 1500 kilometers in the cycle ride as part of the pan India event which started from Pro Sports and Bikes, the dealers of Scott located on Prabhat Road, making Pune the second highest participation in the ride all over the country.
Established in 1958, the Swiss sports brand has been involved in making equipment for running, winter sports and motor bikes.
“We are glad to have played a small role in making champions who have won prestigious titles in National and international level races. #NoShortcuts is our mantra,” said Prasad Shaligram of Pro Sports and Bikes.
