Pune is ‘Final Destination’ for rallyists

Pune: Daring rallyists traversing most of the South India will converge for the first time in Pune as the 9th edition of Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare rally choses this western outpost as its final destination.

Over the last eight years, Dakshin Dare has become one of the sought after rally after Raid de Himalaya and Desert Storm, all being held under the banner of India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, which organises the rallies across the length and breadth of the country.

Over the last eight years, Dakshin Dare has become one of the sought after rally after Raid de Himalaya and Desert Storm, all being held under the banner of India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, which organises the rallies across the length and breadth of the country.

With many more participants from outside of the Southern India taking part in this rally that crosses some of the most breathtaking a scenic locations around the south India, the organisers pitched for a finish in western India and Pune emerged as the favourite destination.

When Paulo Coelho said, “Straight roads do not make skillful drivers”, he wasn’t kidding!

The South present numerous opportunities for the rallyists to experience the thrill of a cross-country rally. Chitradurga is one such location that promises to offer the most challenging yet mystifying journey.

The cross-country rally will begin from Bengaluru on Sunday, July 16 and will head towards the bruelling terrains of South before transiting into the rugged terrains of West that is sure to add more excitement and challenge.

The rally will be flagged off from Orion Mall, Rajaji Nagar with the first competitive leg beginning on July 17 and set out to the most scenic yet challenging terrains of Chitradurga, Belgaum, Kolhapur covering a total of 2200 kilometres.

This thrilling experience will culminate into a prize distribution ceremony in Pune, on July 22.
