Poona Club felicitates silver medallist Arnaav

Arnaav Sareen who brought laurels to the country by winning silver medal in the Under-15 boys category in the recently concluded 25th Asian Junior Squash in Chennai was felicitated by the Poona Club on Monday.

Pune: Arnaav Sareen who brought laurels to the country by winning silver medal in the Under-15 boys category in the recently concluded 25th Asian Junior Squash in Chennai was felicitated by the Poona Club on Monday.

City lad Arnaav who trains at Poona Club Squash Courts is currently India No 1 in his category while Asia No 2 and World No 6.

“I wanted to thank you my coach and all the Poona Club members for tremendous support. The final match taught me many lessons, it was a tough match. I tried my level best but I missed gold by whisker,” said Arnaav Sareen.

The Poona Club squash courts are second home to Arnaav.  He has had a good year so far finishing third at the Cologne Junior Cup 2018 and sixth at the British Junior Open 2018. 
 
“He (Arnaav) is the one of the best players which I have trained. I am glad that he has got a good support from his parents and Poona Club,” said  Deepak Moolani coach of Arnaav.
