PATNA: It turned out to be a perfect return for Pro Kabaddi after a gap of one year as hosts Patna Pirates were at their best as they defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers 41-30 during the Inter Zone Challenge Week of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 match here at the Patliputra Sports Complex on Friday.
It was Manjeet who opened the account for hosts Patna Pirates with a hand touch on Mohit Chhillar. The fifth minute saw a Super Raid from Pardeep Narwal, captain of the hosts when he got away from Mohit Chhillar who tried to block him.
In the ninth minute, it was another Super Raid for Pardeep Narwal as the hosts started climbing up. Narwal got away when Ajinkya Pawar tried to hold him and touched Anup Kumar and Mohit Chhillar in the process. With this it was a ‘super 50’ for skipper Pardeep Narwal a he has scored 50 raid points this season.
At the stroke of half time, the score read 22-15 with Patna Pirates leading the scoreline. In the second half, Patna took to the mat and looked more determined with Pardeep Narwal scoring a successful raid. It was a perfect Super 10 for Pardeep Narwal in the 27thminute when he got it with a hand touch after some confident running . Later in the 31st minute, the hosts scored their second all out on the Panthers as Pardeep Narwal did the honours of removing the last man on the surrender raid.
In the end, it was a homecoming win of sorts for Patna Pirates as the final score read 41-30 in their favour.
