Pune: Nilesh Patankar of Thane and Abhishek Bora of Host’s Q club won all their league matches to enter in the knock round of the inaugural Sterlite Tech Cup India Open Snooker Championship, played at The Q Club tables, Vimannagar on Friday.
In the group P tussles, Nilesh Patankar of Thane score back to back win and placed himself in knock round. Nilesh managed to win over Nitin Potdar of Pune by 54-58, 68-28, 62-48 in the tough battle of his second league match. Interestingly, in last league match Nilesh out played Chintamani Jadhav of Corner Pockets by 65-12, 46-45.
Host’s Q Club’s member Abhishek Bora registered his third consecutive win from group N in league stage. Abhishek scored an easy win against Ranjit Kachare of Pune by 56-05, 52-21 and secured his place in the knock out round.
Shubham Rokade of Sangali started well off in tournament scoring back to back wins. In the first match Shubham scored an easy win over Ankush Prasad by 70-09, 59-01.
