Pari sends top seed Radhika tumbling

Pune: Seventh seed Pari Singh rallied from one set down to stun top seeded Radhika Mahajan 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to enter the final of the MSLTA - Yonex Sunrise Hotel Ravine National Series Under-14 Tennis Tournament at Ravine Hotel in Panchgani on Friday.

Pari did not start well and lost the first set 4-6. In the second set, Pari got her act together to take the match into the decider by clinching the second set 6-2.

Pune: Seventh seed Pari Singh rallied from one set down to stun top seeded Radhika Mahajan 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to enter the final of the MSLTA - Yonex Sunrise Hotel Ravine National Series Under-14 Tennis Tournament at Ravine Hotel in Panchgani on Friday.

Pari did not start well and lost the first set 4-6. In the second set, Pari got her act together to take the match into the decider by clinching the second set 6-2.

The decider turned out to be an easy affair for Pari, as she wrapped up the game with a 6-2 victory. The match turned out to be longest of the day. Singh will now take on another state player and No 2 seed Vaishnavi Adkar, who easily disposed of Kundana Bandaru of Karnataka 6-2, 6-3.

Among the boys, 11th seed Ronin Lotlikar thrashed third seed Aayush Bhat 6-1, 7-5 to ensure a place in the final. Ronin will face Delhi boy Ayushman Arjeria, who beat Anmay Devaraj of Karnataka 6-3, 6-2.
