Pune: Archers from around the nation will be seen in action in the 38th Senior National Archery Championship, which will commence at the Archery Outdoor Range, Army Sports Institute from April 5.

A total of 890 archers – men and women, which are divided into 38 teams from various States and units will be seen in action in the eight-day tournament.

A total of 890 archers – men and women, which are divided into 38 teams from various States and units will be seen in action in the eight-day tournament.

The championship will be conducted in Indian round, Recurve and Compound events. All the events will take place in the men, women and mixed categories. Championship will see 30 international archers including 10 Olympians.

The tournament will be concluded on April 12. 

Asian Games selection trials
- All the archers will aim for good performance in upcoming event as the National championship is designated as selection trials for Asian Games 2018.
- The archers will get selected for Recurve and Compound event in men, women and mixed categories respectively.
- The Asian Games will take place from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia.
