PUNE: The Indian kabaddi team which has won all the seven kabaddi gold medals in the Asian Games competition, is all set to chase it’s eighth title in the upcoming edition which commences at Jakarta-Palembang from August 18.
The Kabaddi event will be played from August 19 to 24. India will be led by experienced Ajay Thakur.
To support the kabaddi team Mashal Sports Pvt. Ltd—organisers of the Pro Kabaddi League, along with with the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), has announced #RaidForGold, a unique initiative that reaches out across the country to give Indians an opportunity to rally behind and express their support to the team.
This initiative will witness participation from children over 2,000 schools from 19 cities across India.

KABADDI IN ASIAN GAMES
- Kabaddi was included as a demo sports in 9th Asian Games in 1982 New Delhi. It was included as a discipline from Beijing 1990, where India won gold medal.
- Since 1990 to 2014, India has always won Kabaddi title.
- In 1990, 1994, 2002 India defeated Bangladesh while in 1998 and 2006 India beat Pakistan and in the last two editions India overcome Iran to win the yellow medal.
