Pune: Muskaan Shiekh from Sardar Dastur Junior College claimed gold medal in the 100 metre event in the Under-19 category of the Zilla Parishad Athletics Championship at Balewadi Sports Complex on Thursday.
Muskaan raced ahead to the victory line with the timing of 13.8 seconds. The silver medal was conquered by Sejal Ahir of Bishop’s School, Camp who completed the race in 14.1 seconds while Mansi Dhare settled for the bronze medal.
Vrushali wins silver
Vrushali Uttekar of Modern College walked home with two silver medals. Vrushali started the day winning a silver in the 1500 metre event and then she grabbed second spot in the 3000 metre event to secure her second medal.
Gold was clinched by Aakanksha Gaikwad in 1500 metre while in 3000 metre yellow metal went to Sheetal Dukre.
Two golds for Omkar
Omakar Ratnoji from Vimlabai Garware College clinched two gold medals. Omkar took his first gold in 1500 metre where he completed the race in four minutes and 37.28 seconds ahead of Vinay Kumar Patoli (5.03.30) and Kunal Gujre (5.34.19) of Army Public School and SM College respectively.
Later in the day, Omkar struck his second gold in 3000 metre race.
