Muktangan English Medium School defeated Symbiosis International School 2-0 in the third round of the Under-17 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament being played at SSPMS football ground

Pune: Muktangan English Medium School defeated Symbiosis International School 2-0 in the third round of the Under-17 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament being played at SSPMS football ground here on Thursday.

Prathamesh Paigude from Muktangan English Medium School scored the first goal in the 8th minute while Vedant More scored the second goal in the 17th minute of the game.

In another match, New English School defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Paranjape School 1-0 to enter the next round. Vishal Sarkar from New En glish School scored the lone goal in the 6th minute.

Also winning with the same scoreline was St Patricks High School who beat Dr Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Aundh. Gladson David scored for St Patricks in the 18th minute.

In another fixture, JN Petit Technical High School defeated New English School, Ramanbaug 3-0. Vinit Chavan was in good form as he struck thrice in the 6th, 9th and 20th minutes. 

Meanwhile Nagarvala Secondary School defeated opponents SSPMS Boarding 1-0 with Mandar Khond scoring the lone goal in the 18th minute.
