MTB National Championship starts on Sept 21

PUNE: Cycling action will return to Pune as Oxford Golf Course is ready to host the 14th Giant Starkenn MTB National Championship from September 21 to 24. 

It is the fourth year on trot that the city will be hosting the event. Teams from 22 states have registered for the event. 

32 cyclists will represent the Maharashtra team. Kerala have come in with a squad of 49 cyclists while Karnataka has a team of 34 cyclists. Giant Starkenn has taken one step ahead this time as they are sponsors for the Maharashtra team.

“We want more number of cyclists to take part in the event and it feels great to sponsor upcoming talent who want to make their name in the field of cycling,” said Pravin Patil Managing Director and CEO, Starkenn Sports Pvt Ltd.

The winners of the tournament will receive cycle equipments. The event will take place in four categories: Youth (Under-14), Sub-Junior (15-16 years), Junior (17-18 years) and elite (above 19 years).

TRACK FOR RACE
The cycling track has been relaid with more difficulty level as compared to last year. The length of the track is 4.2 kilometres.
