Pune: Dabang Delhi has appointed Meraj Sheykh as their captain while new team Haryana Steelers have shouldered their responsibility to Surender Nada for the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 which starts on July 28.

The Delhi team has added some exceptional players to the squad. They will kick-start its campaign on July 29 against Jaipur Pink Panthers.
“The team is looking good and we have young and fit players to last the longer season. We have skilled and experienced players in all departments and the young guns add depth to the Dabang squad. With utility players across the team, our aim is to be the team to watch this season,” Sheykh said.

For Haryana, local boy Surender will be assisted by another Wazir Singh.
The team has spent the last three weeks at a pre-season camp in Bellary, Karnataka.

The PKL reaches Haryana on September 8 where the Rai School in Sonepat will turn into a fortress for the Steelers who take on reigning champions Patna Pirates in the first home game of the season.

Nada said “Haryana has produced so many Kabaddi players over the years and the sport has a fanatical following, which always left us wishing the state would have its own team in the PKL. It has finally happened this season and it is a great feeling.”
