PUNE: An in form Martin Joshua scored four goals as Loyola High School, Pashan thrashed Angel High School, Uruli Kanchan 9-0 to advance in the hockey event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in progress at the Major Dhyan Chand poligras stadium in Pimpri on Wednesday.
Benedict Joshua scored the opener in the 10th minute while Martin Joshua struck in the 12th, 19th, 22nd and 33rd minutes as Loyola High School dominated.
Siddhesh Tungar scored two goals in the 16th and 27th minutes while Chetan Patil (24th) and Rupin Shete (38th) added one goal each to the tally.
One sided affair
In another encounter of the day, St. Joseph High School Boys, Khadki showed no mercy as they thrashed Podar International School (CBSE), Chakan with the score reading 24-0.
Abid Shaikh scored in the first and 33rd minute while Hanzala Tamboli score four goals in the 3rd, 7th, 13th and 17th minutes.
Viraj Gaikwad (9th), Sanket Patole (11th, 24th), Leon Thomas (15th, 40th, 44th), Christospher Gawave (19th), Imtesal Sayyed (21st, 44th, 47th, 48th), Emmanuel Thomas (28th), Rohan Rathod (29th), Vedant Shinde (31st, 42nd, 43rd), Siddhant Gaigawave (37th) and Rohan Kangellu (39th) added to the goal tally in the one sided affair.
In another boys encounter, Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Boy’s Military School, Phulgaon defeated Alegaonkar High School , Khadki Bazaar 2-0 with Vinayak Hande (32nd) and Kunal Satav (41st) getting on the scoreline.
In the girls matches, Smt. Goolbai Muluk Irani Kanya Shala, Khadki defeated Angel English Medium School (CBSE), Sambhaji Nagar 9-0 to advance.
Sanjana Khetawat (1st, 4th, 30th), Maithili Surve (3rd, 6th, 12th), Priyanka Waghmare (10th), Rutuja Waghmare (32nd) and Mahima Gupta (34th) got on the scoreline for Smt. Goolbai Muluk Irani Kanya Shala, Khadki.
In another match, Anglo Urdu Girl’s High School, Camp played out a goalless draw against St Helena’s School, Camp.
