Maharashtra Hockey teams leave for National C’ship

Pune: Hockey Maharashtra junior men and women’s teams who will be participating in the 8th Hockey India Junior Men And Women National Championships which will take place at Bhopal from April 26 to May 6 have left for the event after a 12 day camp which took place at the Shiv Chattrapati Sports complex, Balewadi.

Rahul Shinde from Krida Prabhodini will lead the boys team while Satyam Nikam who hails from Aurangabad will be his deputy.

The boys team are placed in Group A along with Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Odisha, Hockey Delhi and Hockey Bhopal. They will play their first match on April 26 against Hockey Chandigarh.

Goalkeeper Sarita Bhise from Krida Prabhodini will lead the girls team while her deputy will be Prajakta Kidgaonkar from Kolhapur.
