Maharashtra girls clinch gold

PUNE: Maharashtra girls defeated Tamil Nadu 83-66 to clinch the gold medal after eight years at the 45th edition of the Sub Junior National Basketball Championship being played at Kangra on Sunday.

The score at half time read 43-27 with the Maharashtra girls leading. 

In the end Maharashtra girls kept their lead and walked home with a 83-66 win. For Maharastra, Shomira Bidaye top scored with 20 points while Bhumika Sarge and Tanvi Salve scored 11 points each.

Finals:
Girls: Maharashtra 83 (Shomira Bidaye 20,Bhumika Sarge 11, Tanvi Salve 11, 
Mansi Nirmalkar 8, Dhara Phate 8) bt Tamilnadu 66 (Sadhana P 47), Half-time 43-27.

Third place:
Boys: Maharashtra 66 (Dev Premi 24, Sahil Dhanavate 14, Kunal Bhosale 12) beat Chhattisgarh 44 (Adarsh 19, Sanju 13) Half-time 20-21.
