Pune: Kothrud’s Madhyamik Vidyalaya and Priyadarshini Vidya Mandir entered the finals of Kabaddi Under 13 boys event at Sakal Schoolympics event at the Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.
In the first of the semi-finals, Madhyamika Vidyalaya overcame Shree Sant Dnyaneshwar Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Kothrud by 53-30 score, while Priyadarshini Vidya Mandir sneaked past Modern High School 35-26 to set up the title clash.
In the first of the semi-finals, Madhyamika Vidyalaya used their raids to a great effect, as it yielded them points time-to-time. Their defence, too held well as they contained Sree Sant Dnyaneshwar Madhyamik Vidyalaya’s attacks to a minimum effect.
In the girls section, Renuka Swaroop High School overcame Khashaba Jadhav Kridaniketan 29-22 to make it to the final, where they take on HHCP Huzurpaga School Laxmi road.
Huzurpaga High School beat Vijayamala Kadam Prashala Erandwane 42-27.
They were dominant in raids from the beginning, and made it count in the second half as well, where they did not give any chance to their opponents, making their domination count into points and securing a passage to the finals.
