Kulkarni takes lead in FIDE rating chess

In the eighth round, Mumbai player IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni opened with French Defence to stop the winning run of Kolhapur lad Sammed Shete in 44 moves on the top board.

Pune: International Master Vikramaditya Kulkarni moved into the lead with 7.5 points after the eighth round during the 15th Shri Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament going on at Buddhibal Krida Trust on Saturday.
