Pune: Income Tax Dept., Pune and Krida Prabodhini staged brilliant comeback wins in their respective group matches in the 7th Late Hussain Hockey Championship, at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium here, on Monday.
Krida Prabodhini rode on a two-goal second-half brace by Talib Shah to over come GST and Customs by an odd goal in three (2-1). Income Tax Dept. later fought off a stiff Mumbai Republicans 2-1 after trailing by an early goal.
In a Group-E, Krida Prabodhini found themselves trailing early. GST & Custom opened though Abhiram Ekka (21st) to lead at half-time. On resumption Talib Shah (37th, 46th) netted twice a span of 12 minutes to turn tables.
Later, Income Tax Dept. playing their first match in Pool-B halted Mumbai Republican winning run. Republicans took the lead via Prashant Tondkar (9th). However. Nitin Kumar (17th) pulled Income Tax Dept. on level terms to share honours at the breather.

Group-E: Krida Prabodhini 2 (Talib Shah 37th, 46th) bt GST & Custom 1 (Abhiram Ekka 21st).
Group-B: Mumbai Republican 6 (Thonglen Th. 14th; D Gaykar 18th; G Nimbolkar 19th; I Singh 23rd; K Meghwal 43rd; P Naik 47th) bt Priyadarshini SC 1 (A Salamani 40th).
