Pune: Dr Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Aundh, defeated SNBP School Yerwada 2-0 in the second round of the Under-17 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament at SSPMS football ground here on Wednesday.
Vishesh Bhandare from Dr Kalmadi Shamarao High School scored the first goal in the 6th minute while Chinmay Kakde scored the second goal in the 11th minute.
In another match, Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys High School defeated Epiphany High School 3-0 to advance further. Tabish Sundhke scored a brace in the 4th and 22nd minutes, while Ghanshyam Patel added one goal to the tally in the 12th minute for the Dastur boys.
Also registering a win was St Patricks High School who got past Sinhgad City, Kondhwa with the score reading 3-0. Rohan Mudliyar from St Patricks struck in the 8th and 11th minutes while Gladson David scored one in the 21st minute.
In another fixture, JN Petit Technical High School defeated Mahavir English Medium School 5-0. Lucky Shetke (9th, 23rd), Aditya Waghmare (6th), Vedant Mutkekar (12th), Vinit Chauhan (18th) got on the scoreline for the winning team.
Nagarvala Boarding got past SPM English Medium School 2-0 thanks to goals from Karthik Bhandekar (6th) and Akshay Nilvarna (18th).
