Ivory FC beat HSSH, clinch title

Pune: Ivory FC defeated HSSH 4-0 to clinch the title of the second edition of Futfive football tournament organised by Rotaract Club of Pune on September 30 and October 1 at Sports Galaxy Turf, Kondhwa.

Earlier in the semi-finals,  Ivory FC defeated Footbal Freaks 14-2 while HSSH got past Peace FC 2-0 to advance to the final.
A five on five football match with two rolling substitutes being played was the main highlight of the tournament. A total of 64 teams from across Pune battled to win the coveted trophies of Futfive Season 2.

The first day saw teams across Under-19 and 16 age groups play in a knockout format to decide seedings for Sunday’s Round 3, quarterfinals, semi-finals and final stages. 

The knockout stages themselves provided all the typical drama of the ‘beautiful game’ with several games decided by last minute goals or the dreaded penalty shoot-out. A total of 63 matches were held. On day 2, the liveliness of the tournament was even higher between the players. 

The keenness to score more goals to reach the finals and acquire the prestigious trophy, cash prize and rewards worth rupees twenty-five thousand contrived the tournament even 
more exciting. 

There were notable achievements throughout.
Prince Yao Ouattara of Ivory FC was the top goal scorer of this season with 23 goals in just 5 matches. Sniper FC won the fair play award and HSSH FC were the runners-up. 

Rotaract Club of Pune’s Yuva, being a social youth club understand the true meaning of team spirit, planning and several other integral life essentials. 

Futfive is an effort on their part to associate with other people, companies and organisations to create an atmosphere filled with fun and cheer. 

In total there were over 60 matches played and more than 400 goals scored over the weekend in what has now become firmly established as one of the premier youth soccer tournaments in Pune. 

The event was sponsored by Pepsi, DBS Digi Bank, Pizza Hut, Master Egg, Sakal Times, Budhani Bros and Kathi Kabab’s roll.
