Indian riders head to Japan for Round 3 of Asian Road Racing Championship

The duo will take part in the Round 3 of the 2018 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) following rookie Shetty’s phenomenal performance in Round 2 in Australia.

Pune: Anish Shetty and Rajiv Sethu will form the first-ever all-Indian team to take part in an international competition in Suzuka, Japan, this weekend thanks to Honda 2-wheelers India.

The duo will take part in the Round 3 of the 2018 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) following rookie Shetty’s phenomenal performance in Round 2 in Australia.

“Scoring my first international points in Australia on Race 1 and repeating the performance the next day has been a huge morale booster for me,” said Shetty as he flew out to Japan.

Honda’s second rider Rajiv Sethu will be making a comeback after a wrist injury suffered during practice session in Australia that preventing him from racing at Bend Motorsport Park.

“Racing is the heart of Honda and Honda 2Wheelers India too has special focus to develop iconic Indian riders for national and international championships.

After scoring at both the races in Round 2, the team is fully charged,” said Prabhu Nagaraj, VP Brand and Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.

“Honda engineers have made special changes to my motorcycle so that throttle inputs are easier to be made. I would also thank all the fans who sent me messages and helped me to prepare myself mentally for Suzuka.”

The 23rd edition of FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is Asia’s most competitive motorcycle road racing championship, held since 1996.
