Hrudaya ousts Gargi in semi-final

Pune: In the battle of Puneites, third seed Hrudaya Shah ousted second seed Gargi Pawar 6-3, 6-0 to enter the final of the Diwali Smash Super Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament at Ravine Hotel in Panchgani on Thursday. 

Pune: In the battle of Puneites, third seed Hrudaya Shah ousted second seed Gargi Pawar 6-3, 6-0 to enter the final of the Diwali Smash Super Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament at Ravine Hotel in Panchgani on Thursday. 

Hrudaya started briskly and kept Gargi on back foot with her furious returns and took the first set 6-3. In the second set nothing went right for Gargi as she made many unforced errors as Hrudaya advanced into the final with a 6-0 victory in the second set. Hrudaya will face Sanya Singh who defeated Shrichandra Tentu 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the first semifinal of the day.

Among boys, Aryaan Bhatia stunned everybody with impressive tennis where he overcame third seeded Sarvesh Birmane 6-4, 6-0. Then Niranjan Nikhil Thiru  scored an 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) victory over Sanskaar Choubey.
