Pune: Hosts Loyola High School dominated proceedings as they defeated SSPMS Day in all the age categories of the Loyola Football Cup being played at Loyola High School football ground here on Thursday.
The tournament has been organised by Ex-Loyola Alumni Network (ELAN).
In the Under-12 match which saw the highest number of goals being scored, Loyola High School thrashed SSPMS Day 9-0 to win with ease. Dhir Parmar scored two goals in the 19th and 24th minutes while Brian D’Souza added two more goals in the 5th and 25th minutes.
Meanwhile Eevan Querroz (10th, Tanush Kalambkar (12th), Vidhay Pancholi (14th), Aarun Varisangkar (29th) and Jach Sudarshan (33rd) scored one goal each as hosts Loyola High School stole the limelight.
In the second Under-12 match of the day, The Bishop’s School, Camp defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 6-0.
Eric Arland from Bishop’s scored a brace in the 8th and 14th minutes while Ved Sarkar (12th), Aarav Arora (17th), Uvraj Salunke (21st) and Akshay Gupta (30th) got on the scoreline as the Bishop’s School, Camp walked home with the win.
In the Under-14 battle, Loyola High School defeated SSPMS Day 5-0 to enter the next round. Akshat Dadoo struck twice in the 15th and 21st minutes while Austin Allappatt (17th), Ishaan Dhulgude (33rd) and Rajwardhan Patil (40th) added one goal each to the tally.
In the second Under-14 match, The Bishop’s School, Camp defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 7-0. Prithviraj Lawande from Bishop’s was the player to watch out for as he scored four goals in the 7th, 17th, 24th and 30th minutes. Meanwhile Siddesh Tingre scored thrice in the 3rd, 47th and 49th minutes as Bishops dominated.
In a Under-16 fixture, Loyola High School defeated SSPMS Day 4-0. Prabhansh Matharu (8th), and Rahul Dhubale (20th, 27th, 37th) scored for the hosts.
