Pune: Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whose brand value dipped substantially after Virat Kohli overtook him as captain, will now endorse an agarbatti brand to perk up his diminishing revenues.
Dhoni, who was already endorsing Mysore Sandal soap of Mysore Deep Perfumery House, has now become the face of the same company’s flagship brand Zed Black.
By signing Dhoni, MDPH is planning expansion pan-India with a target to grab a major share of the Rs 6000 crore incense stick market.
Zed Black is one of the top three manufacturers of incense sticks in India, and exporting to 10 countries.
“Prayers have always given me inner strength and confidence. I will be happy if I can infuse the value of prayer in the minds of Indian youth for the success of our country,” said Dhoni, who is the face of the 360-degree campaign for Zed Black.
Till only a year ago Dhoni was called “Brand Lord” and not without any reason. He endorsed brands such as Pepsico, Reebok, Exide, TVS motors, Reliance Communication, Reliance Energy, Orient PSPO, Aircel, Bharat Petroleum, Titan Sonata, GE Money, Siyaram and others.
