Hasan wins with a sixty-seven break

Shivam won the third frame and took a 2-1 lead. In the fourth frame, Hasan scored a 67 point brake to come back in the game. Dominating the fifth frame Hasan won 43-0. Shivam won the next frame 37-25 as the match was evenly poised.

PUNE: Mumbai cueist Hasan Badami delivered a sixty-seven break in the finals to score a hard fought win over national player Shivam Arora of Pune 7-5 in the Cue Club Masters Open Ranking Snooker Championship which concluded at The Q Club Tables, Vimannagar.

Hasan Badami defeated Shivam Arora by 7-5 (44-37, 8-68, 16-38, 71 (67)-0, 43-0, 25-37, 58 (49)-8, 37-15, 46-13, 0-59 (54), 25-38, 40-14). In-form, Hasan won the first frame 44-37. In reply, Shivam Arora won the second frame with a margin of 60 points and gave a message to Hasan that, the final will not be a one-sided affair. Shivam won the third frame and took a 2-1 lead. In the fourth frame, Hasan scored a 67 point brake to come back in the game. Dominating the fifth frame Hasan won 43-0. Shivam won the next frame 37-25 as the match was evenly poised.

Winning the next three frames by 58 (49)-8, 37-15, 46-13, Hasan took the game away from Shivam (6-3). Shivam tired very hard catching up with Hasan wining back to back frames, and also scored a break of 54 points. Hasan pocked accurately and scored 26 points, won the 12th frame and clinched the title.

In the semifinal, Hasan got the better of Mukund Bhradia 43-0, 0-41, 35-5, 33-28, 41-38, 40-8, while Shivam Arora defeated Anand Raghuwanshi by 52-20, 32-24, 46-10, 2-49, 48-12, 37-38, 38-11.
