Goa wakes up to the Enfield thumping

Goa: It was the thumping of Royal Enfield’s from across the country who made their way to the beach town of Vagator, Goa which stole the show on Day One of the Royal Enfield Rider Mania event, the annual pilgrimage of Royal Enfield riders on Friday.

The event which is one of the largest gatherings of Royal Enfield owners witnessed more than 6,000 bullet owners congregate at Vagator. The first day witnessed the riding school which was conducted followed by dirt track training registrations and training sessions. There were a host of other activities lined up for the bikers which included arm wrestling, cleanest bike competition and other competitions.

The day witnessed the Men’s Expert 350 cc Class race in which Aniket Koregaonkar was impressive as he stood on first position while Abu Tahir stood second followed by Tanmay Wafegaonkar who stood third.
In the Men’s Novice 350 cc Class event, Mohd Rafiq stood first. Standing on the second and third positions were Nikhil R and Basil Sunny respectively.

Bhushan Agarwal from Pune, a first timer to the event who accompanied his friends was impressed with the brotherhood and unity he saw during the event. “It feels really great to see people bond over bikes and share their riding experiences. Since a few years the riding culture has grown by leaps and bounds. Because of events like these we end up making friends from all the states which is the best part. I am definitely coming here every year,” Agarwal said.

Rohan Deshpande who is a regular at Rider Mania feels that Goa is the perfect destination  for the event. “Goa is a place where the entire country flocks to for a break and here if it is connecting with the brotherhood, there’s nothing like it. Many riders participate in it every year and take back many memories. Because of the riding culture rapidly rising, the number of people attending the event is rising with every edition. The organisers are doing a good job as they manage it very well. Also they come up with something new every year,” Deshpande said.
