Pune: Grand Master S Kidambi of Tamil Nadu playing with black pieces started his campaign with a win over Varad Walde on the opening day of the 15th Shri Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament at Ashwamedh Hall, Karve Road in Pune on Tuesday.

IM Satyapragyan Swayangsu, IM Ratnakaran K, IM Abhishek Kelkar, IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni playing black pieces and IM Sameer Kathmale playing white  also won their rounds.
