Four seeds tumble on a day of upsets

Pune: As many as four seeds including girls top seed Mehak Kapoor were upset in the quarter-finals at the fourth leg of the Icon Group Little Champions Series Tennis Tournament being played at the RPTA Tennis Academy, Pashan here on Wednesday.

In the biggest upset of the day, unseeded Vaishnavi Singh upset top seeded Mehak Kapoor 5-1 to enter the semi-final of the event. 

In the boys Under-10 battle, Aman Shah defeated fourth seeded Prithviraj Hiremath 5-3. 

In another match, Tej Oak did not have to sweat much as he upset sixth seeded Kartik Shewale 5-1.

Under-8: 
Mix Group: 1-Namish Hood bt Vihaan Patni 5-1; 4-Ritsa Kondkar bt Aditya Yogi 5-1;  Neeraj Jorwekar bt 7-Amin Kshitij 5-1; 2-Aryan Kirrtane bt 5-Sujay Deshmukh 5-1. 
Under-10: 
Girls: Vaishnavi Singh bt 1-Mehak Kapoor 5-2;  4-Ritsa Kondkar bt Preksha Pranjal 5-2; Kavya Deshmukh bt Kamya Chopda 5-0; 2-Prisha Shinde bt Jasmin Kataria 5-1.
Under-10: Boys: 1-Saksham Bhansali bt 7-Namish Hood 5-3; 3-Avneesh Chafale bt Shivansh Kumar 5-2; Aman Shah bt 4-Prithviraj Hiremath 5-3; Tej Oak bt 6-Kartik Shewale 5-1.
