PUNE: Food Corporation of India (FCI) struck a surprise by shocking seasoned Bombay Engineer Group (BEG), while Railway Police and Chikalwadi Young Boys had it easy in the inaugural Ajit Dada Chashak Hockey Tournament in progress at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Pimpri here on Wednesday.
Chikalwadi Young Boys ended the challenge of Kids XI with the score reading 3-0 with a second-half spurt.
Arvind Pillay (38th), Rahul Rasala (39th), Pawan Rasala (43rd) scored to settle the issue.
In a shock result, Food Corporation of India (FCI) shut out opponents Bombay Engineer Group, Khadki with the score of 2-1 in a evenly contested encounter.
After playing out a goalless first half, the Khadki outfit took the lead via Sam Kandulana (38th).
However, FCI had other ideas and changed the tide two-goals in six minutes.The first was scored by Akash (43rd) while Vijay Singh (49th) struck the match winner.
