FCI enters semifinal

PUNE: Food Corporation of India (FCI) showed no mercy as they thrashed PCMC 16-1 to enter the semifinals of the Moti John Memorial Hockey Tournament in progress at Major Dhyan Chand poligras stadium in Pimpri on Thursday.

For FCI, Harish scored two goals in the 4th and 32nd minutes. Suvash Khandekar added one goal in the 10th minute.

Vinay Walmiki who was in good form scored four goals in the 18th, 19th,26th and 34th minutes. 

Meanwhile Likhit added one goal to the tally in the 23rd minute.

Adding to the scoreline was Venkatesh Devkar who struck twice in the 24th and 37th minutes. 

Arvind Yadav scored a perfect five as the FCI boys were in control of the game.

Yadav scored in the 28th, 51th, 54th, 57th and 59th minutes. Dhananjay added one to the tally in the 45th minute. For PCMC, Akshay Jadhav scored one goal in the 43rd minute.

On Friday, Bhusawal Railway will take on Rovers Academy in the third quarterfinal while Sports Authority Of Gujarat will take on Pune City Line Boys in the fourth quarterfinal.
