FC Pune City Reserves thrash Dempo Sports Club Juniors

Pune: After winning the Under-19 IFA Shield in June, FC Pune City’s Reserves team continued their good form at the first AWES Cup, 2017 held at the Duler Stadium, Goa on Thursday by thrashing Dempo Sports Club Juniors 4-0 in the Group C clash. 

FC Pune City took lead in the 19th minute via a Sajjid Hossain volley. As the clock hit 36th minute mark, Buanthanglun Samte doubled the lead, while just before half time Gani Nigam put FC Pune City 3-0 up.

The team continued dominating the second half and with 11 minutes on the clock, Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga made it 4-0, the scoreline remained unchanged at the end of regulation time as the local side Dempo SC Juniors tasted their second defeat in as many games while FC Pune City topped the group C and now await FC Bardez.

Result: FC Pune City 4 (SK Sajid Hossain 1; Buanthanglun Samte 1; Gani Nigam 1; Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga 1) beat Dempo Sports Club 0.
